MICHAEL BROWN… FREDDIE GRAY… REKIA BOYD… ANDY LOPEZ… TAMIR RICE… ERIC GARNER… ONE AFTER ANOTHER—and so many others, precious Black and Brown lives—victims of police murder. The powers-that-be have continued to unleash their cops to kill and brutalize people, and have backed them up in these murderous deeds. These killings are the spearpoint of an overall program of suppression that includes mass incarceration and all its consequences. This program of suppression especially targets Black and Latino people and has genocidal implications. All this poses a crucial question: Which side are you on? Do you stand on the side of continuing to unleash this official violence? Or do you stand with those who demand that these murders stop? THESE MURDERS BY POLICE MUST BE STOPPED – NOW! Bringing hundreds of thousands of people to NYC on October 24 for the national march to STOP police terror is a crucial part of doing this. This will draw a clear dividing line in society, posing the question for millions of people: Which Side Are You On? This will give heart to those who suffer this brutality and murder 24/7. And it will open the eyes of many more people in this society who don’t suffer this brutality—and challenge them to join in acting to stop it. Join us in making this historic event as powerful as it needs to be, and can be. The UCLA Revolution Club and the Afrikan Student Union are taking a side. We are calling for an action on October 22nd @ 12 noon by the Bear, where we will #SayTheirNames, the names of the people whose lives have been stolen at the hands of the murdering police.
