Center Talk: Bloom Receives Award for Black Against Empire
Joshua Bloom, UCLA doctoral candidate in sociology, received an American Book Award on October 26th, 2014, in San Francisco, for his book, Black Against Empire: The History and Politics of the Black Panther Party, with his co-author Waldo Martin, a UC Berkeley historian. The book delves into the history of the Black Panther Party and its relevance today. Bloom was a Bunche Center predoctoral fellow while conducting work on the book. To learn more, Click Here.
